What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg/Telemetry unit, handling diverse diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, DKA, and altered mental status
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, including support for cardiac drips (no titration)
- Support patients through procedures including IV initiation and wound care as directed by WOCNs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including RT, OT, PT, and hospitalists
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR (Meditech Expanse)
- Float to other units within scope of practice as needed
- Assist with phlebotomy and other unit support tasks
What You Need
Required:- Valid RN license in Louisiana or state of practice
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- At least 1 year of recent acute care RN experience
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
- Strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation and patient care
- Experience in Med/Surg and telemetry
- Flexible and adaptable team player
- Ability to handle complex patient cases independently
