Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions either within the home setting of clients or at our outpatient facility.
\n
• Facilitate the development of essential skills such as anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills by employing therapeutic techniques tailored to meet the unique needs of each child or adolescent.

• Indirectly reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior and aggression, through focused interventions.
\n
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and specialists from various disciplines to enhance the decision-making capabilities of both adolescents and their caregivers.

• Ensure punctual completion and submission of all documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, to maintain high standards of care.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss ongoing cases, share insights, and make recommendations for improved client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work primarily with children aged 3 to 20, many of whom have developmental and cognitive challenges. Your therapeutic efforts will specifically target children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, enabling them to harness their potential while addressing their mental health needs. This targeted approach provides a holistic view of therapy, emphasizing emotional stability and sustainable coping strategies.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is mandatory.

• Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically from 4 pm to 7 pm, with added flexibility during weekends being a plus.

• A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to clients' homes or the outpatient office.
\n
• Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check, inclusive of fingerprinting requirements.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and interventions to children with behavioral challenges.

• Prior experience working directly with children and adolescents in the age range of 3-20, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Compensation and Benefits\n
