UCLA ASIAN AMERICAN STUDIES DEPARTMENT OPEN POSITIONS: PART-TIME LECTURERS (NON-SENATE) 2026-27

The Department of Asian American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for part‑time Lecturer positions (non‑Senate) with primary responsibility teaching interdisciplinary courses in Asian American Studies for the 2026‑2027 academic year. Appointments are usually per course, on a quarter‑by‑quarter basis. UCLA offers a major, minor, a Pilipino Studies minor, a graduate concentration, and a Master of Arts. Salary Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with teaching load. See Table 15 Unit 18 Faculty Pre‑Six - AY for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $70,977 – $87,294. Teaching Responsibilities We are especially interested in candidates who can teach courses that satisfy our major/minor requirements of Comparative and Intersectional Ethnic Studies or Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities and Social Movements. Qualifications Applicants with a Ph.D. are preferred. Applicants who are advanced to Ph.D. candidacy or who have a M.A., M.F.A., or equivalent may be considered (currently enrolled UC students are not considered).
