Under minimal supervision, this position performs a variety of advanced/clerical and specialized/administrative support duties involved in the operation of the Nursing Department at OIDD-Midlands Regional Center.
Three years of clerical experience or a high school diploma and two years of clerical or an associates degree in secretarial science or other related field and one year of clerical experience. Preferred Qualifications
Ability to type at a corrected rate of 35 wpm. Ability to plan and organize. Physical abilities include walking, pushing, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, grasping, and repetitive motions. Knowledge of office management practices, secretarial and paraprofessional administrative duties. Knowledge of spreadsheets and other database applications. Knowledge of the principles, policies and practices of office management. Knowledge of applicable terminology and practices. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies and organizational functions. Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with staff. Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.

- Types correspondence and reports for Nursing Department.
- Maintains employee time and leave records for all nursing staff and medical providers.
- Orders necessary supplies under direction of Nurse Administrator.
- Maintains employee files for all nursing staff.
- Serves as the communication coordinator for Nursing Department.
- Maintains the files and records in Nursing Office.
- Performs and participates in outcome activities assigned by Supervisor/Director of Nursing.
Three years of clerical experience or a high school diploma and two years of clerical or an associates degree in secretarial science or other related field and one year of clerical experience. Preferred Qualifications
