Boston, Fort Point – 15 Necco Street (Platinum LEED‑certified). The restaurant will seat 200+ guests, with private dining, event spaces, a James‑Beard‑recognised bar, sweeping views of the channel, and an outdoor terrace. Sous Chef Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day operation of the kitchen, consistently delivering Hawksmoor food quality and standards, leading the team, and supporting service efficiency. Responsibilities Guest Experience Lead all sections of the kitchen to the highest standard, including a strong grill capability. Demonstrate excellent knife skills, including fish and meat preparation. Maintain full knowledge of product provenance and supplier partnerships; ensure only the highest quality ingredients are received and used. Show genuine care and ownership in delivering an exceptional guest experience. Understand CSI metrics and how the kitchen impacts them. Ensure all recipes are executed precisely and consistently, upholding Hawksmoor’s uncompromising standards. Team Engagement & Culture Embodies Hawksmoor values with professionalism, positivity, and integrity. Actively seeks, welcomes, and applies feedback to continuously improve. Health & Safety Ensures full compliance with allergy protocols, food safety standards, fire procedures, and cleanliness policies. Completes all required training and consistently upholds hygiene standards. Maintains a clean, organized workspace with accurate labeling at all times. Ensures team adherence to cleanliness and safety standards through training and example. Maintains equipment inventory and ensures the kitchen is always fully operational. Operational Standards Manages time effectively to support service and team needs. Implements and maintains effective kitchen systems and training programs. Delivers financial performance in line with company budgets while identifying efficiencies. Monitors stock levels across food, dry goods, and non‑consumables to maintain par levels and minimize waste. Supports recipe execution to maintain standards and protect high‑value ingredients. Assists with ordering and stock control, including placing orders. Understands and can interpret flash food cost reports. Supports sales initiatives and maximizes covers through operational readiness and collaboration. Enforces absence and lateness policies consistently and fairly.
