Work Environment\n

This position allows for flexibility as it is predominantly remote, but the therapist will be required to engage with clients both virtually and occasionally in person at our community health clinic. The work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening hours as necessary to accommodate patient needs. This setting promotes a collaborative and supportive atmosphere among professionals who share a common goal of improving child and adolescent mental health.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the unique needs of each child and adolescent.

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans that are responsive to developmental stages and family dynamics.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral techniques, to treat disorders such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral issues.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions, empowering parents and caregivers to foster nurturing environments for their children.
\n
• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to provide cohesive and comprehensive care.
\n
• Respond to mental health crises effectively, offering support and intervention during critical moments.
\n
• Educate patients and families on mental health disorders, treatment pathways, and available community resources to support ongoing wellness.
\n
• Ensure accurate, confidential documentation aligned with ethical and legal standards.
\n
• Engage actively in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development initiatives.

• Stay current with the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with a closely-knit community of children and adolescents facing various psychological challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, and behavioral disorders. You will have the opportunity to forge meaningful connections with young clients and their families, playing a crucial role in their mental health journey and advocating for their needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• A valid and current license to practice in New York, such as LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, LMFT, Licensed Psychoanalyst, or licensed Psychologist.
\n
• Strong foundational knowledge of child and adolescent mental health theories, disorders, and therapeutic methodologies.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to interacting with clients, fostering trust and rapport.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other computer applications for documentation and communication.
\n
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working in mental health, particularly with children and adolescents.

• Demonstrated experience in providing both individual and family therapy.
\n
• A working knowledge of various therapeutic modalities specific to younger populations.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
