Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to understand each patient's unique history and needs.

• Create and implement personalized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and resilience through collaboration with clients.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to guide patient sessions.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on coping strategies and emotional healing.

• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings with psychiatrists and other specialists to ensure comprehensive care for each patient.

• Provide crisis intervention services for patients experiencing acute trauma responses.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma recovery, symptom management, and available community resources.

• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress in compliance with all ethical and legal requirements.

• Participate actively in case consultations and professional development activities aimed at enhancing trauma-informed practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Pathways of Wisdom, you will primarily work with individuals suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our clientele ranges from children to adults, each requiring tailored interventions that respect their unique experiences and histories. Your therapeutic approach will empower them to process their trauma and reclaim their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and resilience-focused treatment modalities.

• Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to care.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n
