Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' histories and current challenges, guiding the development of tailored treatment plans.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment strategies that align with the latest evidence-based practices in trauma recovery.

• Utilize specialized therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and mindfulness-based techniques to facilitate healing.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma, enhance their coping skills, and develop resilience.

• Act as a key collaborator within the treatment team, ensuring integrated care through regular consultations and coordinated efforts.

• Provide crisis intervention support to patients experiencing trauma-related emergencies or acute distress, utilizing your clinical expertise to stabilize their conditions.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and community resources to facilitate a deeper understanding of the healing process.

• Maintain comprehensive and confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be working with adult patients who have experienced various forms of trauma. Many of these individuals are coping with the aftermath of severe life events, and they need support to navigate their emotional landscapes. You will be instrumental in providing a safe, empathetic space where patients can explore their feelings, confront difficult memories, and foster their journey toward recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience, preferably in a mental health setting focused on trauma-informed care.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and proficiency in trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients compassionately and non-judgmentally.

Compensation and Benefits\n
