Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ history and distinct treatment needs.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that center on trauma recovery and resilience-building strategies tailored to each patient's unique circumstances.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing.

• Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions that empower patients to process their experiences, develop coping strategies, and promote personal growth.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, social workers, and other professionals to ensure integrated and cohesive care for our patients.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for individuals experiencing trauma-related emergencies, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at A Step Ahead Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on individuals affected by trauma, including those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your role is pivotal in supporting clients in their journey towards recovery and resilience through compassionate engagement and personalized therapy.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, particularly with trauma-informed care.
