Wholeness Rediscovered Behavioral Rehabilitation Center is looking for a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team as a full-time resource for individuals navigating the complex journey of trauma recovery. This remote position allows you to offer compassionate care tailored to each patient while working collaboratively with a team of professionals committed to trauma-informed practices.

Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to create a work-life balance while you engage with clients from the comfort of your home. You will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team that values open communication, mutual respect, and shared insights into each patient’s journey. While the standard work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, we also understand that patient needs may require some flexibility in scheduling.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients’ psychological histories and current mental health needs.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic interventions focused on trauma recovery, including techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients in processing their trauma, building coping strategies, and fostering a sense of agency and empowerment.

• Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and integrate care, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment that addresses all aspects of a patient's wellbeing.

• Provide crisis intervention support for patients experiencing acute trauma-related distress or emergencies, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and the resources available to them, empowering them as active participants in their healing journey.

• Maintain confidential and accurate documentation in line with ethical standards and legal requirements, using electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.

• Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings, contributing to a supportive atmosphere of professional development and teamwork.

• Stay updated with the latest research and practices in trauma therapy to continuously enhance treatment effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on working with adults and adolescents who are navigating the aftermath of trauma. Our clients may present with a variety of mental health challenges, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties stemming from traumatic experiences. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will play a key role in supporting these individuals on their paths to recovery, helping them develop the tools they need to cope with their experiences and rebuild their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Possession of a current and valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York is essential.

• A strong knowledge base of trauma-related disorders, and clinical expertise in trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must, with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to therapy.

• Aptitude to remain calm in high-stress situations, promoting a soothing presence for clients in need.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient operations.

• A collaborative spirit, ready to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, as it enhances your capacity to address the intricate needs of trauma-impacted clients.

• Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions, with demonstrable success in clinical outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges between USD 90,000 – 100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
