Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, actively listening to client concerns and documenting key findings throughout the treatment journey.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on thorough assessments, which may include interventions for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing techniques grounded in evidence-based practices to promote client understanding and participation.
\n
• Monitor and document clients' progress against treatment goals while making timely adjustments to the intervention strategies as necessary.
\n
• Collaborate closely with other mental health practitioners and healthcare providers to formulate and coordinate effective intervention strategies.

• Engage in regular follow-up consultations with psychiatrists for clients requiring medication management or hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.

• Identify and mitigate behaviors that may hinder recovery, while also providing support to families and caregivers navigating the mental health landscape.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on adults facing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related conditions, and substance use disorders. Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Solid clinical experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating competence in therapeutic techniques and patient engagement.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, ensuring accurate documentation and seamless communication.
\n
• Knowledge of how physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders, impact mental health treatment.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, reflecting your ability to convey complex information clearly and compassionately.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering rapport with clients and their families.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience using American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices to increase treatment efficacy.

• Understanding the effects of prescribed medications on mental health and functioning.

Compensation and Benefits\n
