The Health Disorder Mental and Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team, focusing on the mental health needs of children and adolescents. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work remotely, providing essential telehealth services to our young clients and their families.

Work Environment\n

The position is predominantly remote, allowing our licensed therapists to reach clients via telehealth platforms. We emphasize a work-life balance conducive to the demands of mental health counseling, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and occasional evening shifts based on patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents, utilizing standardized diagnostic tools and interviews to evaluate their emotional and psychological needs.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that align with the individual developmental stages and specific family dynamics, ensuring each patient receives personalized care.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions and techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to address diverse mental health conditions.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions when necessary, equipping parents and caregivers with skills to foster nurturing environments for their children.
\n
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including child psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, to provide coordinated and comprehensive care to clients.

• Deliver emergency support and crisis intervention strategies during acute mental health incidents, exercising strong judgment and effective communication.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about mental health disorders and available treatment options, empowering them with knowledge and community resources.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.
\n
• Actively participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development activities to stay informed about advancements in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on young individuals between the ages of 5 and 21 who exhibit a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and various behavioral disorders. Our approach is tailored to meet the specific needs of each child and adolescent, ensuring that families are intricately involved in the treatment process.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure in New York State as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R or LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred, particularly in a child and adolescent setting.
\n
• An in-depth understanding of developmental psychology and an extensive knowledge base in evidence-based treatment modalities.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and child-centered therapeutic approach.
\n
• Proven ability to establish rapport and build trust with young clients and their families.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
\n
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team structure.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in delivering individual and family therapy specifically to children and adolescents.

• Background in crisis intervention strategies and behavioral health support.

• Experience with telehealth practices and remote therapy delivery.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
