Work Environment\n

This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing counselors to engage with clients via our secure telehealth platform. You will be integrated into a supportive virtual team where regular collaboration and communication are encouraged. As a mental health professional at Advent Health Counseling Center, you will participate in a structured workweek, typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, while benefiting from a work-life balance that telehealth provides.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their specific care needs to develop effective treatment plans.

• Provide one-on-one therapy sessions and facilitate group counseling to help clients navigate emotional challenges associated with aging, loss, and life transitions.

• Educate clients, their families, and caregivers on strategies that enhance emotional health and improve the quality of life for aging individuals.

• Deliver grief and loss counseling, supporting residents and their families as they cope with end-of-life issues, while creating a safe space for expression and healing.

• Participate in continuous professional development and stay updated with the latest methodologies in mental health counseling.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on seniors who face emotional and psychological challenges, including but not limited to grief, depression, anxiety related to life transitions, and addiction issues. Understanding the unique needs and experiences of this population is critical in providing effective mental health care that addresses the complexities of aging.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Completion of a full-time clinical internship in a mental health setting is mandatory, ensuring hands-on experience.

• Eligibility for licensure in New York State, along with a valid driver’s license in good standing.
\n
• Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to establish trust quickly and empathize with clients from diverse backgrounds.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and case management.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working with the elderly population or in addiction counseling preferred.

• Experience with telehealth platforms and virtual counseling techniques will be considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, and including potential for a sign-on bonus. Our benefits package includes:
