Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including preliminary interviews and documentation of each client's journey from intake through discharge.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for various client demographics, including individuals, couples, families, and groups, while ensuring plans are evidence-based and client-centric.

• Facilitate engaging and effective therapy sessions, both individually and in group settings, employing techniques that are adaptable to meet the diverse needs of clients.

• Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as needed to reflect their evolving needs and circumstances, ensuring alignment with best practices in mental health counseling.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including other mental health professionals, physicians, and nurses, to provide comprehensive care and referrals when necessary.

• Implement strategies to identify behaviors that could hinder recovery and work proactively to mitigate these risks, enhancing client safety and well-being.

• Support and educate family members and primary caregivers in managing challenges related to their loved ones’ mental health conditions, fostering a supportive network around each client.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor will involve working with a varied client base that may include children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. You will adapt your approach to cater to the unique cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of clients, ensuring culturally competent care.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) in the state of Virginia.

• A score demonstrating proficiency on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience working as a mental health counselor, showcasing a solid understanding of therapeutic modalities.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to ensure efficient documentation and care coordination.

• Knowledge of the best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a strong ability to build rapport with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, along with a generous sign-on bonus.
