As a mental health counselor at Riverwoods Academy, you will be part of a collaborative, supportive, and innovative virtual team. While the primary work setting is remote, you will also engage in outpatient services, meeting clients either via telehealth or through in-person appointments. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct ongoing assessments to tailor therapeutic interventions to meet each patient’s unique needs, leveraging evidence-based practices.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, direct care staff, family members, guardians, and other involved stakeholders regarding client progress and care plans.

• Develop and manage a tentative appointment schedule, ensuring timely follow-ups and coordination of home visits or community engagements as necessary.

• Coordinate and document home visits that include observations, data analysis, and follow-ups that evaluate client stability and progress toward defined goals.
\n
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress, share updates, and collaborate on comprehensive care strategies.
\n
• Maintain thorough records of client interactions, treatment planning, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
\n
• Provide training and supervision to junior staff and practitioners to ensure competency in implementing program plans and maintaining ethical documentation practices.

• Act as a liaison with community agencies and resources, promoting developmental initiatives that expand mental health support.

• Assist in refining training materials and programs aimed at continuously improving service delivery for clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this position, you will cater to a wide range of clientele including youth and adults, encountering diverse mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance misuse. You will provide therapeutic interventions tailored to individuals and families, ensuring inclusivity and respect for each client's unique background and circumstances.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Kansas.

• Minimum of two years of counseling experience in a clinical context, demonstrating a track record of successful patient interactions.

• Strong understanding of legal and ethical standards relevant to mental health practice.
