Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Benchmark PT Clinic, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical abilities, identifying functional limitations and disabilities.
• Developing personalized treatment plans that outline goals and approaches tailored to each patient's specific needs.
• Administering therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and modalities, while regularly assessing patient progress.
• Providing consultation to fellow healthcare providers to ensure a seamless continuum of care for patients.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of treatment plans, patient progress, and compliance with legal and professional standards.
• Supervising and mentoring support staff, including Physical Therapy Assistants and aides.
• Engaging in community outreach programs and participating in marketing efforts to enhance clinic visibility and patient education.
• Attending regular staff meetings and participating in continuing education to foster professional development and enhance clinical skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will focus primarily on orthopedic patients, including individuals recovering from surgery, athletes rehabilitating from injuries, and older adults managing chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will advocate for patient-centered care by collaborating with patients, families, and caretakers throughout the treatment and discharge planning process, ensuring that each patient's voice is heard in their recovery journey.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication, along with computer skills necessary for documentation and patient management.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, preferred candidates will have:

• Experience working in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• A background in community outreach or educational programs related to physical therapy.
