Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities, including:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients, reviewing pertinent medical histories, performing assessments, and determining treatment recommendations based on your findings.
• Communicating clearly with patients and their families regarding evaluation findings and collaboratively establishing treatment goals.
• Implementing individualized treatment plans based on your professional expertise, the specific needs of the patient, and the evolving healthcare landscape.
• Consulting with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes and ensuring necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on observed changes in patient health.
• Completing accurate documentation and coding for all patient interactions, ensuring compliance with legal and accreditation standards.
• Participating in discharge planning and providing follow-up care to ensure continuity and quality of treatment.
• Engaging in departmental marketing initiatives to promote our services and enhance awareness in the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients, including those undergoing rehabilitation following surgeries such as joint replacements, fractures, and sports-related injuries. You will also work with individuals managing chronic pain and mobility issues. By employing evidence-based practices and individualized care plans, you will work to improve their functional outcomes and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
