Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments and interviews to understand clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs.

• Document all findings and progress through comprehensive case documentation, ensuring that records reflect the trajectory of each client’s treatment.
\n
• Develop and implement tailored treatment and intervention plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, maintaining a client-centered approach.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based methodologies and therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Monitor and evaluate client progress throughout their treatment journey and adjust plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.

• Provide ongoing support and follow-ups for clients requiring additional resources or referrals to community services.

• Assist families and caregivers to understand and address mental health challenges within the family unit.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The clients you will serve encompass a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and mental health concerns. Our center places particular emphasis on addressing anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and addiction-related challenges. You will engage with clients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, requiring cultural sensitivity and an ability to adapt counseling techniques to fit individual client needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
\n
• Successful completion of examinations such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of experience as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, for efficient case management and reporting.

• Comprehensive knowledge of co-occurring disorders related to physical and emotional health conditions.

• Understanding of the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong interpersonal demeanor to foster client trust.
