Work Environment

Located in a state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in Richmond, VA, our team operates in a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday with a 40-hour workweek, offering consistency and work-life balance while being dedicated to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations upon referral from physicians, assessing conditions and designing tailored treatment plans that aim for maximum effectiveness and recovery.
• Administer a variety of therapeutic interventions based on patient needs, including orthopedic, pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine treatments.
• Deliver treatment in accordance with established plans of care, using advanced techniques and modalities to facilitate improvements in patient mobility and quality of life.
• Provide education and training to patients and caregivers about effective rehabilitation strategies, ensuring home routines align with clinic-based therapy.
• Maintain clear communication with colleagues and patients, participating in multidisciplinary teamwork to maximize each patient's outcomes.
• Utilize evidence-based tools and methodologies to monitor and document patient progress accurately.
• Meet and strive to exceed minimum utilization goals, supporting organizational objectives while focusing on patient-centered care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clientele consists of a diverse range of patients, including individuals recovering from surgery, athletes rehabilitating from injuries, children with developmental delays, and adults managing chronic conditions. As a therapist at Advent Care, you will engage with patients of all ages and backgrounds, helping to restore their strength and independence through personalized therapy plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA or CAPTE-approved program.
• Current state licensure in Physical Therapy, with certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as proficiency with computer systems necessary for documentation and reporting.
• Strong relationship-building skills to foster trust and confidence with patients and their families.
• A genuine passion for helping others and a desire to positively impact community health outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is highly desirable.
• Two or more years of hands-on experience in a clinical setting, with a preference for experience in rehabilitation environments.
• Current CPR certification to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
