Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of essential duties:

• Design and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at preventing physical disabilities, relieving pain, enhancing mobility, and restoring muscle function in alignment with each patient's unique needs.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants, ensuring effective treatment protocols are upheld in accordance with the established care plans.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of each client's orthopedic condition through diagnostic assessments, including strength tests, range of motion evaluations, and functional mobility assessments.
• Assess patients' home environments and suggest modifications or assistive devices that facilitate rehabilitation and promote independence.
• Deliver physical therapy services onsite, adhering to physician prescriptions and best practices for patient care.
• Administer therapeutic modalities and diverse treatment techniques, such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
• Engage in interdisciplinary meetings, contributing to the collective treatment strategy and ensuring the goals are met efficiently.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with agency policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your caseload will primarily consist of patients with orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical recovery, joint replacements, neck and back pain, and sports-related injuries. You will work closely with each patient, understanding their individual goals and needs, and creating a therapeutic environment that promotes healing and motivation towards recovery.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution, demonstrating a strong educational background in rehabilitation sciences.
• A valid Florida license to practice as a Physical Therapist, ensuring compliance with state regulations and standards.
