Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your core responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive trauma-informed assessments that accurately portray patients' trauma histories and inform treatment planning.

• Creating and executing individualized treatment plans designed to promote trauma recovery, resilience, and life satisfaction.

• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic methods, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate recovery.

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions to enable patients to process their trauma and develop healthy coping strategies.

• Engaging in multidisciplinary collaboration to coordinate integrated care for patients, working closely with psychiatrists and other specialists.

• Providing immediate support and crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies to ensure patient safety and stability.

• Educating patients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available mental health resources to empower recovery.

• Maintaining diligent and confidential documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards for mental health practices.

• Participating in team-building activities, case consultations, and ongoing professional development centered on trauma-informed care.

• Staying abreast of advancements in trauma therapy to ensure patients receive the most effective treatments.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of your practice will be on working with individuals coping with the repercussions of trauma. Patients range from those with diagnosed PTSD to individuals experiencing complex trauma and dissociative disorders. You will play a critical role in supporting their journey toward recovery and healing, employing trauma-informed strategies that encapsulate understanding, patience, and empathy.

Qualifications\n

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess the following:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.
\n
• Demonstrated understanding of trauma-related disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills combined with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, we value dedication and a passion for mental health care more than years alone. Compensation and Benefits\n
