Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments for individuals, meticulously evaluating their trauma history to inform treatment planning.

• Develop, implement, and regularly update personalized treatment plans aimed at promoting trauma recovery and long-term resilience.

• Utilize recognized evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to guide therapeutic sessions.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions designed to help patients process their trauma, cultivate coping strategies, and embark on a healing journey.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that all aspects of the clients’ mental health care are integrated and cohesive.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, offering calm and effective assistance in high-stress situations.

• Educate patients and their families about responses to trauma, coping mechanisms, and the resources available to support recovery.

• Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress, adhering closely to legal and ethical standards.

• Actively participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development activities centered on trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay abreast of current research trends and best practices in trauma therapy, ensuring continual growth and improvement in therapeutic methods.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on providing care for individuals dealing with trauma, including survivors of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. The clients you will be working with often present with a variety of emotional and psychological challenges, and it will be your role to guide them through their unique healing processes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.

• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and modern digital communication tools.

Preferred Experience\n
