Work Environment\n

This position operates in a fully remote telehealth setting, allowing you the flexibility to work from home while still engaging directly with clients through video calls, phone sessions, and other telecommunication tools. Our use of advanced electronic health record systems such as AVATAR ensures a streamlined workflow, enabling you to focus on delivering care rather than getting bogged down by administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health, documenting findings meticulously from the first consultation to treatment completion.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on specific needs and goals.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on client progress, and provide regular updates to clients about their growth and areas of focus.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and healthcare providers, to coordinate comprehensive care and interventions.
\n
• Identify early signs of chronic issues that may impede recovery and formulate preemptive strategies to address these concerns.
\n
• Empower family members and primary caregivers with tools and strategies to better support their loved ones through challenging mental health situations.
\n
• Manage referrals to additional specialists when needed and follow up on clients transitioning to more intensive levels of care, such as hospitalizations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your clientele will include a broad spectrum of individuals experiencing mental health challenges, ranging from anxiety and depression to severe emotional distress and relationship issues. We are looking for a counselor who demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity, as our clients come from diverse backgrounds and may require unique attention to their cultural contexts and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW) in the state of Illinois.

• A passing score on either the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is essential for this role.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR.

• Strong understanding of mental health diagnoses, treatment modalities, and therapeutic interventions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior professional experience working as a mental health counselor, with a solid track record in direct patient care.

• An understanding of addiction disorders and co-occurring health conditions, which is beneficial for treating a complex patient base.

• Familiarity with the best practices endorsed by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and ongoing development in this field.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal abilities to foster trust and rapport with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive yearly salary in the range of $80,000 to $100,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
