Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote and allows mental health professionals to provide services via telehealth platforms. Our clinical team operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed to accommodate patient requirements. We utilize advanced telecommunication technologies to ensure our therapists can effectively engage with clients while working flexibly from home.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments that consider the unique challenges faced by older adults, such as cognitive decline and comorbid physical conditions.

• Provide individual and family therapy sessions through telehealth, focusing on interventions designed to alleviate symptoms of geriatric psychiatric disorders.

• Engage collaboratively with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.

• Offer immediate crisis intervention for elderly patients experiencing acute mental health crises, ensuring safety and support.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment paths, and local resources, fostering a supportive network.

• Maintain complete and confidential records in compliance with healthcare regulations, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As part of our geriatric psychiatry practice, you will primarily work with elderly patients who may be struggling with various mental health concerns, including but not limited to depression, anxiety disorders, and conditions related to dementia. You will play a vital role in assessing and treating these individuals, promoting mental wellness, and empowering families to navigate care options.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or licensed Psychologist in California.

• Demonstrated knowledge of geriatric mental health issues and effective treatment approaches pertinent to this demographic.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a patient-centered, empathetic approach to care.

Compensation and Benefits\n
