Work Environment

This position operates in a home care setting in Bonita Springs, Florida, allowing you to work directly with patients in the comfort of their residences. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and implement physical therapy treatment plans that are designed to prevent disability and alleviate pain, while enhancing muscle function and mobility.
• Oversee and guide physical therapy assistants to ensure adherence to the outlined care plans and treatment modalities.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of the client's functional abilities, utilizing diagnostic tests to inform treatment strategies.
• Assess home environments for rehabilitation potential and recommend adjustments to optimize client independence.
• Deliver prescribed physical therapy services in clients' homes, including administering manual exercises, traction, and physical agents, adjusting based on client responses.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust orthotic and prosthetic devices, collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document all client interactions and treatment outcomes accurately in clinical records, including initial evaluations and discharge summaries.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans and progress, ensuring aligned approaches to care.
• Educate clients and their families on therapy techniques and the proper use and care of equipment to facilitate a smooth recovery process.
• Be readily available for your Physical Therapy Assistants during client treatment sessions for input and guidance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Home Care Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your patients will primarily include individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and conditions affecting their mobility and quality of life. You will be instrumental in helping them regain strength and independence through targeted therapy interventions designed for a home care environment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current physical therapy licensure in the state of Florida with a clean record.
• Valid CPR certification and a reliable driver's license with auto insurance.
