Private Equity Fund Controller - NYC

A private equity firm with a growing portfolio is seeking a Fund Controller to take ownership of all fund-level accounting and reporting. The environment is lean, collaborative, and built around people who take initiative and enjoy having full responsibility for their area. Role Overview This position oversees the full spectrum of fund accounting, including quarterly and annual reporting, financial statements, capital activity, analysis, and coordination with auditors and third-party partners. It’s a hands‑on role suited for someone who thrives in a smaller setting and is comfortable managing the function independently. Ideal Background 10–15 years of private equity fund accounting experience Broad exposure to fund operations and reporting Experience working in a lean or entrepreneurial environment Able to take full ownership of processes and deliver accurately under deadlines Not seeking candidates coming directly from public accounting Location The firm is establishing a New York presence in the near term. Until the office is finalized, the role will operate remotely for New York–based hires, with a hybrid schedule expected once the office is open.
