Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and examine patients to identify functional limitations and create personalized treatment plans tailored to their needs and recovery objectives.

• Conduct thorough evaluations by reviewing patient medical histories, performing specific assessments, and incorporating the latest evidence-based practices.

• Implement effective treatment protocols based on patient assessments while adapting to each individual's evolving health status and recovery journey.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, ensuring effective communication and coordinated care that meets each patient's complex needs.

• Document all patient care activities meticulously, including initial evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure compliance with legal, corporate, and clinical standards.

• Facilitate discharge planning, including providing patients with follow-up care instructions and resources necessary for continued recovery at home.

• Participate in continuous education programs and attend facility meetings to stay updated with healthcare regulations and rehabilitation best practices.

• Engage in initiatives focused on removing barriers to care and improving overall patient access to rehabilitation services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The role primarily involves working with patients returning from orthopedic surgeries, managing sports-related injuries, and supporting general musculoskeletal disorders. Physical therapists address the unique rehabilitation needs of each patient, tailoring care plans to respond to their specific conditions, functional limitations, and personal rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is mandatory for consideration.

• State licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) in Virginia is required.

• A minimum of two years of experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is necessary to excel in this role.

• Current CPR certification to ensure patient safety and emergency readiness.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with various therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently manage a caseload.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for effective documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
