Work Environment

The work setting is primarily onsite within our Surgical Center, which is designed to facilitate various interventional pain procedures. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team comprising physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who are all committed to delivering exceptional medical care. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday during regular business hours, with the occasional need for evening or weekend shifts to accommodate patient care demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough medical evaluations and comprehensive pain assessments to diagnose patients, considering their physical, psychological, and social backgrounds.
• Develop individualized treatment plans integrating medical, pharmacological, interventional, and non-pharmacological approaches.
• Provide ongoing management and support for patients with chronic pain, focusing on improving their functional abilities, reducing pain levels, and enhancing their quality of life.
• Effectively manage acute pain arising from injuries and surgical procedures, employing evidence-based practices to minimize discomfort and foster healing.
• Prescribe and monitor medications for pain management, taking into account patient history and preferences to ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Perform and oversee key interventional procedures such as nerve blocks and epidural injections, utilizing advanced techniques to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Educate patients on pain management strategies, including self-care techniques and lifestyle modifications to foster their active participation in the management of their condition.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate electronic health records (EHR) to document all patient assessments, treatments, and follow-ups.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work closely with a diverse patient population that includes individuals suffering from chronic pain conditions, as well as those with acute pain due to injuries or surgical interventions. Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant healthcare field is required.
• Eligibility to practice as a Physician Assistant in Texas with an active medical license in good standing.
• Strong foundational knowledge in pain management, including familiarity with disease processes related to pain.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport with patients and their families.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a medical team and maintain a compassionate patient-centered approach.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from USD 260,000 to USD 610,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include:
