Key Responsibilities\n

• Assist law enforcement officers in conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations during field interactions, determining the need for involuntary detention applications, specifically under California's Welfare and Institutions Codes 5150 and 5585.

• Maintain thorough and accurate records of confidential patient information compliant with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
\n
• Accompany law enforcement personnel during responses to critical mental health situations, ensuring that clients receive prompt and appropriate care.
\n
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among law enforcement agencies, Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs), hospital teams, and psychiatrists to coordinate patient treatment and care pathways.

• Provide training to law enforcement personnel on best practices for addressing mental health crises, aiming to de-escalate situations and minimize the application of force.

• Deliver short-term crisis counseling to non-violent individuals experiencing mental health episodes, focusing on stabilization and immediate support.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The patients you will serve include individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, which may involve substance use, homelessness, or co-occurring disorders. In addition to arrestees, you will engage with community members who require immediate support, emphasizing a compassionate and non-judgmental approach tailored to individual needs. Your role is critical in not only addressing immediate psychological concerns but also linking clients with longer-term supportive resources, such as mental health clinics and shelters.

• A valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 52,000 to 70,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
