: Oncologist Advisor

Healthcare Shares is seeking experienced oncologists to serve as Oncologist Advisors. This role is ideal for physicians with firsthand experience in cancer care, medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, hematology-oncology, precision medicine, clinical trials, diagnostics, therapeutics, patient navigation, digital health, healthcare AI, value-based oncology care, or healthcare innovation.

As an Oncologist Advisor, you will provide clinical, operational, and strategic insight to help Healthcare Shares evaluate, support, and grow healthcare startups within our venture capital fund, venture studio, and broader healthcare entrepreneurship ecosystem. This is a flexible, remote advisory opportunity for oncologists who are passionate about improving cancer care, patient outcomes, access, affordability, care coordination, and innovation through entrepreneurship.

• Provide clinical and strategic guidance on healthcare startups focused on oncology, cancer care, diagnostics, therapeutics, precision medicine, clinical trials, patient navigation, digital health, healthcare AI, and related areas.

• Support Healthcare Shares in evaluating healthcare startups, founders, business models, clinical relevance, workflow fit, scalability, patient impact, and social impact potential.

• Advise portfolio companies, venture studio projects, and healthcare entrepreneurs on oncology workflows, physician adoption, patient care pathways, clinical validation, commercialization strategy, and go-to-market considerations when appropriate.

• Offer relevant introductions, industry insight, and subject matter expertise across oncology, health systems, diagnostics, therapeutics, pharma, biotech, clinical research, healthcare technology, and startup ecosystems.

• Participate in periodic advisory discussions and contribute practical recommendations based on your clinical experience and area of expertise.

• MD or DO with experience practicing oncology.

• Board certification or board eligibility in oncology, hematology-oncology, surgical oncology, or radiation oncology preferred.

• Experience in cancer care, precision medicine, clinical trials, diagnostics, therapeutics, pharma, biotech, patient navigation, digital health, healthcare AI, startups, investing, advisory work, or healthcare innovation preferred.

• Strong understanding of oncology workflows, patient care pathways, physician adoption, clinical decision-making, cancer care coordination, and real-world barriers to healthcare technology adoption.

• Ability to commit approximately 2–4 hours per month to advisory board participation and strategic advisory activities.

This Oncologist Advisor role offers the opportunity to receive carried interest in the Healthcare Shares venture capital fund. Advisors may also have opportunities to support Healthcare Shares venture studio companies and startup clients, including potential sweat equity opportunities when applicable.
