Work Environment

At our Surgical Center, you will work onsite alongside a team of compassionate and skilled healthcare professionals, including surgeons, nurses, and other Physician Assistants. Our facility fosters an engaging and collaborative atmosphere, where communication and teamwork are paramount. We operate on a Monday to Friday schedule, with shifts starting at 5:00 pm that total 40 hours each week. Our focus is on delivering acute, life-saving interventions to patients with severe injuries or medical emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to trauma alerts, conducting thorough assessments of patients' conditions upon arrival.
• Stabilize patients, providing crucial immediate care to prevent further deterioration and to enhance outcomes.
• Assist in resuscitation efforts, performing life-saving interventions during emergencies, including airway management and trauma resuscitation.
• Collaborate actively with the trauma team and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for trauma patients.
• Conduct physical examinations, interpret diagnostic results, and guide treatment options based on findings.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by supervising physicians, ensuring adherence to protocol.
• Assist in performing invasive procedures such as wound management and suturing under appropriate supervision.
• Provide educational support to patients and families regarding trauma care and expected recovery paths.
• Facilitate the transfer of trauma patients to appropriate units or facilities, ensuring continuity of care.
• Monitor and manage patients' pain and discomfort, employing effective pain management protocols.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety standards within the trauma care setting.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Surgical Center caters to a wide range of patients, from trauma victims to those undergoing elective procedures. Qualifications

• Exceptional candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field, along with completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Possession of state licensure as a Physician Assistant is required.
• Candidates must be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• At least two years of experience in emergency medicine or trauma care is essential.

• Experience with trauma assessment and stabilization protocols, including knowledge of trauma-specific medications and interventions.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic abilities in evaluating trauma patients.
• Experience working in a high-stakes, fast-paced medical environment.

Compensation and Benefits
