Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with supervising physicians and the healthcare team to provide comprehensive, individualized care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, including reviewing medical histories, conducting physical examinations, and ordering necessary diagnostic tests.
• Assist in the operating room by performing minor surgical procedures, first assisting with surgeries, and ensuring optimal patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
• Manage post-operative patient care by developing and implementing treatment plans, monitoring recovery progress, and providing patient and family education regarding care instructions.
• Facilitate hospital admissions and discharges, ensuring the continuity of care and proper transitions for patient safety.
• Participate in daily rounding for surgical patients and effectively communicate updates to the surgical team and family members.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with institutional policies and relevant regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will engage with a diverse patient population, ranging from pediatric to geriatric patients, who require surgical interventions. Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant in Texas.
• Active DEA License.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completion of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) within the first 12 months of employment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2-3 years of advanced practice experience in surgical settings or hospital medicine, with a preference for candidates who have experience in both laparoscopic and robotic surgery techniques.
• Exposure to first assisting in surgeries and managing complex post-operative care.
• Demonstrated ability to function independently while collaborating effectively with a healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
