Position Overview

One Care Family Hospital is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic team at our Surgical Center located in Amarillo, Texas. This full-time position offers an annual salary range of USD 140,000 – 180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Physician Assistant will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality primary medical care to our patients in a collaborative Clinical setting.

Work Environment

The position is located onsite at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center in Amarillo, Texas. As a full-time team member, you can expect to work Monday through Friday, with a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical assessments: Perform thorough examinations and obtain detailed medical histories from patients to evaluate their health status. Utilize standardized screening and diagnostic procedures while interpreting the results to establish accurate medical diagnoses. Ensure any identified abnormalities are promptly communicated to supervising physicians.
• Manage acute and chronic health conditions: Treat common illnesses in an outpatient clinic setting. This includes developing treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and ensuring appropriate referrals for complex cases.
• Prescribe and regulate medications: Order and manage therapeutic treatments per established protocols and continually assess patient responses to therapies. Educate patients and families about medication management and health maintenance.
• Diagnostic test oversight: Order and interpret laboratory tests including X-rays, blood work, and EKGs. Ensure that findings are assessed accurately, and document these evaluations in the electronic health record system.
• Provide patient education: Counsel patients and their families on preventive healthcare measures, lifestyle modifications, and the management of chronic diseases, ensuring they are well-informed about their health conditions.
• Collaboration and care coordination: Work in concert with a multidisciplinary team to ensure cohesive patient care delivery. Actively participate in case discussions and weekly team meetings to optimize treatment strategies.
• Maintain accurate records: Document all patient interactions, clinical findings, assessments, and treatment plans promptly and accurately. Ensure patient confidentiality as per legal standards and hospital regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

• Experience: A minimum of three years of clinical experience working as a Physician Assistant, particularly in outpatient settings, is required.
• Knowledge: Thorough understanding of medical laws, regulations, and ethical practices relevant to patient care and documentation.

Preferred Experience

Experience in a surgical or specialty care environment is highly desirable, along with familiarity in handling patient care coordination. Candidates with expertise in electronic health record (EHR) systems will be favored to streamline patient management processes.
