Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and recovery goals.
• Direct and oversee the work of physical therapy assistants to ensure high standards of care and adherence to the care plans.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of the patient's physical capabilities, utilizing diagnostic and prognostic assessments to guide therapy interventions.
• Monitor and assess patient progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy programs as required, and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, employing a blend of manual therapy techniques and modalities to promote recovery and mobility.
• Educate patients and their families on the use of therapeutic devices and provide guidance on home exercise programs to foster independence.
• Join interdisciplinary team meetings to strategize patient care approaches and share insights about patient progress.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, including evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans, adhering to compliance and documentation standards.
• Stay abreast of research in physical therapy and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily involve working with a diverse patient demographic, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will utilize your clinical expertise to support each patient in achieving optimal health, functional independence, and enhanced quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current licensure to practice as a physical therapist in Florida, in good standing.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably within outpatient or home care environments.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with patients, fostering a supportive and motivational atmosphere for recovery.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the resilience to adapt to changing patient needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with interdisciplinary team members and document patient care accurately.

Preferred Experience

• Experience utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) for documentation and reporting.
• Knowledge of community resources and support systems available for patient rehabilitation.
• Interest in mentoring physical therapy students or new staff members.
