Care of Joints Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team in Avenel, New Jersey. Work Environment

This role is primarily centered around home care, allowing you to engage directly with clients in their familiar environments. You will have the flexibility to create personalized treatment experiences that standard healthcare settings may not offer. Our physical therapists work on a Monday to Friday schedule, providing a balanced work-life dynamic while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and improving musculoskeletal function based on each client’s specific needs.
• Evaluate clients’ levels of function utilizing various diagnostic tests to assess muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities.
• Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants, ensuring they effectively carry out the prescribed care plans under your direction.
• Assess home environments to make recommendations that optimize clients’ independence and enhance safety during rehabilitation.
• Deliver hands-on physical therapy interventions, including administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, traction, and massage.
• Conduct prosthetic and orthotic assessments and adjustments as needed, consulting with physicians on modifications.
• Document and record clinical findings in client records, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Engage actively in case conferences, contributing to collaborative treatment planning with interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide education to clients and their families about treatment plans, therapeutic exercises, and mobility aids to foster understanding and compliance.
• Stay available for on-site functional assessments and revisions to care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Complete additional duties as assigned to achieve organizational goals effectively.

This position primarily serves individuals recovering from orthopedic conditions, including post-operative rehabilitation, chronic pain, and mobility restrictions. Your expertise will directly impact the health and wellness of clients, helping them regain independence and improve their overall quality of life, particularly within the home setting.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Active PT licensure in good standing within the state of practice.
• One year of experience as a physical therapist, with a focus on acute care and/or home care settings preferred.
• Current CPR certification to ensure client safety.
• A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance for necessary travel to client homes.
• A proactive approach to clinical excellence, coupled with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

While one year of experience is required, candidates with additional experience in specialized orthopedic rehabilitation or home care best practices will stand out. A background in working with diverse populations and varying age groups is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist position offers a competitive annual salary in the range of USD 100,000 to USD 120,000, commensurate with experience.
