Job Description & Duties

Provides clinical supervision to social workers who provide care to inmate patients in the correctional facility.

Plans, organizes, directs the social work program, and performs additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Mental Health or designee.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners (unlicensed applicants may be admitted to examination but must secure the license before appointment).

Master's degree in social work from an accredited school approved by the Council on Social Work Education or an equivalent degree.

Two years of post-licensed or post-certified clinical social work experience meeting the supervisor requirements of Section 4980.40(f)(3).

Either

Two years of experience as a Psychiatric Social Worker in a correctional facility within California state service.

Four years of psychiatric social work experience, including at least one year as a supervisor and at least two years in a child guidance clinic, psychiatric outpatient program, psychiatric hospital, or equivalent.

Additional Compensation & Benefits

Possible one-time recruitment and retention stipend of up to $10,000 (subject to eligibility criteria).

Possible monthly recruitment and retention differential totaling $20,000 during the first year of employment.

Referral bonus up to $5,000 for existing CDCR/CCHCS employees who refer a successful hire and remain employed for 90 days.

Pay differential of 15% of the base monthly pay for employees who provide direct in-person patient care more than 50% of the pay period.
