Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, evaluating their physical capabilities and limitations following injury, surgery, or illness.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and advanced modalities to address each patient's unique needs.
• Regularly track and document patients' responses to treatments, adjusting goals and methodologies as required to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
• Educate patients and their caregivers about exercises and techniques to promote self-care and independence in managing their conditions.
• Fit and recommend assistive devices, ensuring patients understand their use and integration into daily activities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and advancements in the field of physical therapy through ongoing education and professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse population of patients that includes both children and adults dealing with various conditions, including orthopedic injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, chronic pain syndromes, and neurological disorders. Your expertise will help facilitate their recovery and enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective patient and caregiver interaction.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, along with general computer skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible to changing patient needs.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist is preferred but not mandatory; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
