Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments using standardized diagnostic tools and clinical interviewing techniques to identify the presence and severity of mood disorder symptoms.

• Collaborate with clients to design personalized treatment plans that are tailored to their specific needs, goals, and personal circumstances, emphasizing client autonomy and informed decision-making.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), ensuring fidelity to established protocols.

• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment methodologies, and actionable self-care strategies to enhance their understanding and engagement in the treatment process.

• Continuously monitor client progress through regular follow-up assessments and feedback sessions, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to maximize therapeutic outcomes.

• Work in close cooperation with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to deliver integrated care, participating in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings to discuss client cases and care strategies.

• Maintain meticulous, confidential documentation of clinical sessions, treatment plans, and assessments, ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and ethical standards.

• Stay informed about the latest developments in mood disorder research and innovative treatment practices through ongoing professional development activities.

• Champion clients’ rights and empower them by promoting awareness and reducing stigma related to mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily serve a diverse clientele dealing with mood disorders, including individuals experiencing symptoms that significantly impact their daily lives. Many clients may face challenges such as low self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, or co-occurring conditions. You will foster a safe and accepting environment, allowing clients to express themselves openly, facilitating their journey towards recovery and personal growth.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York, with eligibility to conduct therapy independently.

• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for mood disorders such as CBT and DBT.

• Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and the ability to collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and other interdisciplinary team members.

• Proven success in developing and implementing treatment plans that yield positive outcomes for clients experiencing mood disorders.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling rapport-building with diverse client populations, fostering trust and safety within therapy sessions.

Preferred Experience\n

A minimum of three years of professional experience in mental health therapy is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have direct experience in outpatient settings and possess a demonstrated understanding of recovery-oriented practices and trauma-informed care principles.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience.
