Work Environment\n

This is a fully remote position, allowing for an adaptable work-life balance while still delivering essential services to students in schools across Long Beach, California. While the primary work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, candidates should be prepared for occasional evening or weekend hours based on client needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the psychosocial needs of students, identifying emotional and social factors impacting their well-being.

• Develop personalized care plans in collaboration with students and their families, ensuring alignment with their goals and preferences.

• Provide emotional counseling and support, assisting students through various life transitions such as entering new educational levels or coping with personal challenges.

• Advocate for clients by facilitating access to community resources and ensuring they receive appropriate support and services.
\n
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of educators, school counselors, and healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care delivery.

• Regularly monitor student well-being through virtual visits, assessing their emotional and academic progress and addressing concerns promptly.

• Resolve conflicts among family members regarding care and support through effective communication strategies.
\n
• Educate students and families about available community resources, support groups, and educational programs that promote engagement and well-being.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation of client interactions, assessments, care plans, and progress notes, adhering to ethical standards and compliance regulations.

• Stay informed about current social work practices and relevant policies, ensuring alignment with best practice standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily focus on students in school settings who face emotional and psychosocial challenges. You will engage with a diverse client population, providing tailored interventions designed to enhance their educational experiences and personal development.

Qualifications\n

• A valid and current state licensure in Social Work (LCSW).

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• At least two years of demonstrated experience in a social work capacity, with a preference for candidates who have worked in school or community settings.

• A strong understanding of social work principles and practices, particularly pertaining to adolescent development and the educational environment.

• Knowledge of available community resources and how to effectively connect clients to these services.

Preferred Experience\n

Preference will be given to candidates who possess experience working directly with students in school-based settings or who have specialized training in crisis intervention and family systems theory. Familiarity with mental health issues facing youth and community engagement strategies will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this full-time position ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
