Accounting Specialist
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $55,000 to $65,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine accounting support functions, including payables, receivables, and assistance with payroll activities.
- Process and track payments while ensuring accurate documentation and proper recordkeeping.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Prepare basic financial reports, schedules, and journal entries to support monthly close activities.
- Maintain organized accounting files and assist with audits, special projects, and administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Ability to handle sensitive financial and personal information with discretion and professionalism.
- Working knowledge of general accounting practices, reconciliations, and financial documentation.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets, databases, and office software.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to comply with background checks, health clearances, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
- 1+ year(s) of recent experience supporting accounting or payroll functions.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and basic financial reporting processes.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical ability.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative, mission-focused approach to work.
