Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, identifying physical impairments, functional limitations, and establishing baselines to inform treatment plans.
• Design and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific goals, ensuring measurable progress and adjustments as needed.
• Actively collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care strategies and communicate treatment expectations and goals effectively.
• Provide coverage and support across multiple hospital units, responding to staffing needs efficiently while ensuring patient continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation aligned with hospital policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Educate and guide patients and their families on exercises, effective mobility techniques, and strategies for injury prevention and safe discharge.
• Facilitate smooth discharge planning by collaborating with case management and social work to address post-rehabilitation needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and various chronic diseases. Your role as a Floater Physical Therapist will require you to adapt treatment approaches based on the specific needs and rehabilitation goals of each patient, ensuring personalized care and attention.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.
• Must hold a current and valid Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida or be eligible to obtain one prior to hire.
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in hospital or acute care settings is preferred, but strong recent graduates with relevant clinical internships may be considered.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• Possess excellent clinical reasoning coupled with effective communication and interpersonal skills to ensure optimal patient engagement and outcomes.
• Willingness to travel between various rehabilitation sites within the region, with options for mileage reimbursement or access to a company vehicle.
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including availability for occasional weekend and holiday shifts.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with a variety of treatment modalities and equipment, including manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise regimens.
• Ability to utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems for efficient patient documentation and tracking of progress.
• Experience in managing diverse caseloads and setting priorities that align with patient and organizational needs.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
