Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Highlands Physiotherapy Clinic, you will:

• Develop and implement customized physical therapy plans designed to relieve pain, enhance mobility, and restore function for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries or injuries.
• Conduct thorough evaluations utilizing diagnostic procedures to assess patients' functional abilities, strength, and mobility levels.
• Oversee and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure compliance with treatment plans and enhance their professional skills.
• Evaluate patients' home environments and provide recommendations for adaptive modifications to promote independence.
• Perform therapeutic interventions—including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise regimens, and modalities—and monitor patient progress with detailed documentation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Provide patient education on therapeutic exercises, usage of assistive devices, and home exercise programs.
• Document clinical findings and treatment updates in a timely manner, ensuring they are submitted for patient records and compliance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse patient demographic, including post-operative orthopedic patients, those with chronic pain conditions, and individuals recovering from injuries. Your expertise will guide patients through their rehabilitation, tailoring approaches to each unique situation. Your role is crucial in helping clients regain function, mobility, and confidence as they return to their daily activities.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Orthopedic Physical Therapist role, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
• Current and valid Physical Therapist licensure in the state of Florida, in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
