Boston - Strategic Transactions and Licensing Associate (Junior)

We are looking for an associate to join our Strategic Transactions and Licensing group (“Tech Group”) in Boston. The Tech Group collaborates with leading venture‑backed startups and venture capital firms in technology, life sciences, AI, financial services, and consumer products. Associates will develop expertise throughout the entire lifecycle of a company, handle multiple matters concurrently, and have client contact from Day1. Responsibilities Draft and negotiate licensing, partnering, and commercial agreements. Provide general intellectual property, privacy, and business/product counseling directly to clients. Work on and manage transactions in all stages of our clients’ businesses, from formation to financings to both buy‑ and sell‑side acquisitions and beyond. Preferred Experience We will consider strong candidates with experience in either: Strategic and/or commercial contracts drafting and negotiation; Deal management of venture financing and/or M&A transactions, who are looking to expand their practice to include more holistic company counseling; Patent litigation or prosecution who are looking to transition to a transactional licensing and commercial practice. Job Requirements Eagerness to work with startup and venture capital clients. Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: commercial contracts drafting, negotiation and/or venture financing or M&A transactions, and/or IP litigation and/or patent prosecution. Admission to or eligible to waive into the State Bar of Massachusetts. Superior academic credentials from a top law school and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. A technical degree is not required, but enthusiasm for and a willingness to learn about emerging technology is a must. Previous large law firm experience preferred.
