About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Revolution Healthcare Services to find a qualified PICU RN in Virginia!

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Central Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment, 36 or 48 hours per week, Night shift. Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays. Three weekends per six-week schedule. 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios depending on acuity.

Highlights:

• Combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care unit with high census and acuity
• Diverse case mix including congenital heart disease repairs (DORV, TOF, HLHS, TGA), heart transplants, trauma, DKA, seizures, and post-op orthopedic, neuro, liver and kidney transplant patients
• Advanced equipment exposure including ECMO, VADs, and CRRT
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• Up to 40 hours of time off available during contract (not during first 2 weeks)

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license or license pending (must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric critical care experience required
• Pediatric cardiac experience strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with 1:2 patient ratios
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions available)
• Proficiency with critical care skills including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, arterial line management, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, and administration of vasopressors
