Sous Chef

Firewood Restaurant in Park City, Utah is seeking a talented, driven Sous Chef to join Chef John Murcko and our culinary team.

Firewood is a chef-driven restaurant centered around live-fire cooking, exceptional ingredients, technique, and thoughtful execution. We are looking for someone who wants more than simply another kitchen position—we want a chef who is excited to grow, lead, learn, and become an important part of our restaurant.

Working directly with Chef John Murcko, the Sous Chef will play a key leadership role in the kitchen and in the daily execution of Firewood's menu and culinary standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef—or an exceptional Junior Sous or Lead Line Cook who is ready to take the next step in their career.

• Lead and support the kitchen team during preparation and service
• Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, consistency, and presentation
• Work closely with Chef John on menu execution and development
• Train, mentor, and develop cooks
• Help manage prep, ordering, inventory, organization, and food costs
• Maintain a professional, clean, organized, and respectful kitchen
• Lead by example during busy services
• Help create a kitchen culture built around accountability, teamwork, and excellence

The right candidate will have:

• Strong culinary fundamentals and technique
• Experience in a chef-driven, fine-dining, or high-volume quality kitchen
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Calm, confident leadership during service
• High standards and attention to detail
• A genuine desire to continue learning
• An interest in live-fire cooking and working with exceptional ingredients
• The ability to lead while remaining part of the team

Previous Sous Chef experience is preferred but not required for an exceptional candidate ready to step into a leadership role.

$70,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience.
