Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist in our Fort Belvoir facility, you will work in a supportive and collaborative environment that prioritizes patient-centered care. Your role will involve direct engagement with clients in various rehabilitation settings, providing you the opportunity to utilize your expertise in a hands-on manner. You will collaborate with a diverse interdisciplinary team to create a cohesive treatment plan focused on maximizing the recovery and rehabilitation of each patient. The typical schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Evaluating patients to determine their functional abilities through diagnostic assessments and developing a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to their specific needs.
• Directing physical therapy interventions aimed at preventing and alleviating discomfort, promoting rehabilitation, and enhancing the client's overall functionality.
• Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure that all aspects of the care plan are being executed effectively and safely.
• Administering manual therapy and guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, ensuring each client is equipped to participate actively in their recovery process.
• Conducting home evaluations to provide recommendations for modifications that increase client independence and mobility.
• Documenting client progress, including initial assessments, treatment changes, and discharge summaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participating actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to contribute insights on treatment planning and evaluate the overall effectiveness of therapy protocols.
• Educating clients and their families on care plans, therapy devices, and home exercise programs to foster understanding and adherence.
• Maintaining timely and accurate records and submitting clinical and payroll documentation in line with company policies.
• Engaging in continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest rehabilitation techniques and protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with diverse patient populations, ranging from post-operative rehabilitation cases to individuals with chronic conditions requiring long-term management. Your expertise will be crucial in addressing the unique needs of each client to foster independence and improve their quality of life. Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia, in good standing.
• Current certification in CPR.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance to facilitate client visits.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Preferred Experience

Experience in home healthcare or rehabilitation, specifically in acute care or home care settings, is highly valued.
