This role is conducted entirely through telehealth services, leveraging virtual platforms to deliver counseling sessions efficiently and effectively. As a part of our virtual team, you will utilize the latest technology and electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to manage client records and session documentation seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health and document findings accurately from initial consultation to treatment completion.

• Develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, focusing on their unique challenges and strengths.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage open communication and healing.
\n
• Monitor and evaluate client progress throughout treatment, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including mental health specialists, psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to enhance clients’ treatment experiences.

• Maintain ongoing follow-up with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.

• Identify potential barriers to successful recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges.

• Support and educate family members or primary caregivers in managing their loved one’s mental health concerns.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will work with a diverse population facing various mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, and addiction. The position requires a high degree of empathy and cultural competence, as you may encounter clients from various backgrounds and life experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Possession of a current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey is essential.

• Must have successfully passed the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proven experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating sound clinical judgement and ethical practices.

• Proficiency in using electronic health records systems such as AVATAR to track consultations and treatment progress.

• Understanding of the connections between mental health, physical health conditions, and addiction recovery.

• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills complemented by strong interpersonal abilities.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
