Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, either in the comfort of the client's home or at our outpatient center, using evidence-based practices.

• Utilize specialized techniques to address behavioral concerns, including anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training.

• Facilitate programs aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behaviors and physical aggression, by implementing customized therapeutic strategies.

• Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and interdisciplinary professionals to enhance service delivery and outcomes for clients.
\n
• Document all relevant client interactions meticulously, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, within designated time frames.

• Participate in monthly team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations for continuous service improvement.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on a diverse range of children, generally ages 3 to 20, who are navigating the complexities of developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. This role demands not only proficiency in therapeutic techniques but also a deep understanding of the multifaceted nature of family dynamics. You will provide support to primary caregivers, equipping them with the skills necessary to manage behavioral challenges effectively and promote a supportive home environment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field is required to ensure a deep theoretical foundation in mental health.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is essential.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with some flexibility on weekends.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are necessary for travel to clients' homes.

• A clean criminal background is required, including completion of fingerprinting for child safety checks.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support that promotes sustainable behavioral changes.

• A background working with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.

• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese will give you a significant advantage, enhancing communication with bilingual families.

Compensation and Benefits\n
