Specialist, Creative Content

Role Description

AIUSA’s Marketing and Communications team develops and executes creative and compelling communications strategies that leverage and build on the Amnesty brand, mobilize members and supporters, and add to the public discourse to protect and advance human rights.

The Specialist, Creative Content (“Specialist”) assists with the development and implementation of content strategies, creating and editing various content formats, and producing content across multiple digital platforms. The Specialist will play a vital role in our visual storytelling team, transforming concepts and ideas into impactful visual representations across print and electronic media.

The Specialist should be an excellent storyteller, with experience creating digital multimedia content, developing audience- and channel-appropriate messaging, digital audience development, producing engaging multimedia content tailored to diverse audiences and communication channels, and demonstrates a thorough understanding of branding and marketing principles. This role is a union position and covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Communication Workers of America (CWA), Local 1180. This is a 2-year fixed term role.

Qualifications

• Strategic and creative thinker, with the ability to translate organizational goals into compelling visual narratives and campaigns
• Proficiency in multimedia production software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, and familiarity with industry best practices in photography, videography, and design
• Strong understanding of human rights issues, both domestically and internationally, and political trends with an ability to translate complex topics and policies into compelling content
• Familiarity with industry best practices and trends in visual content creation and a passion for storytelling through different mediums
• Skilled at project coordination, asset management, and tailoring content for multiple platforms
• Strong analytical and project management skills, attention-to-detail, with an ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines
• Strong interpersonal, listening, verbal communication, writing, conflict resolution, and collaboration skills to create close working relationships with colleagues and members across AIUSA
• Ability to embed inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) best practices into strategy and operations, and all aspects of visual content creation, ensuring AIUSA's assets are representative and inclusive of diverse communities

Requirements

• BA/BS and at least 5 years relevant experience working cross-functionally, with creative, graphic design, UX design, marketing, or a related field experience
• Experience creating content for a variety of communication channels and audiences, including a strong understanding of SEO best practices and experience implementing them
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to produce high-quality video, social media, and online content under tight deadlines
• Experience creating content for a human rights organization to raise awareness, inspire action, and educate diverse audiences preferred
• Proficiency in essential software Microsoft, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar design software
• Technical proficiency in audio/visual production and editing is required
