Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews that document client histories and needs from the initial consultation phase through to the completion of the treatment process.
\n
• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health through standardized assessments and collaborative discussions.
\n
• Develop and implement individualized intervention and recovery plans for a varied clientele, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques and methodologies to offer support and guidance.
\n
• Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on their needs and feedback.
\n
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention plans that align with clients' treatment goals.

• Maintain open lines of communication with medical professionals regarding clients who may require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.
\n
• Proactively identify risk factors and behaviors that may disrupt clients' recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these issues.

• Offer support and resources to family members and caregivers to help them navigate challenges associated with mental health conditions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our licensed mental health counselor will work with a diverse array of clients, including children, adolescents, and adults, who may present with various mental health disorders, emotional distress, or situational challenges. This role focuses on providing tailored therapeutic support aimed at fostering resilience and coping strategies while emphasizing a holistic approach to mental wellness.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• Successful completion of the National Counseling Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively document client cases and communicate with multidisciplinary teams.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills demonstrated through client interactions and teamwork.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor, with a strong focus on outpatient care.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for effective case management.

• Familiarity with best practices stipulated by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Knowledge of how physical health conditions and substance use disorders impact mental health and recovery.
\n
• Ability to provide comprehensive support to clients with complex and co-occurring disorders.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This role offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, with additional incentives such as a sign-on bonus.
